Our little Shropshire hill is very special
Two luxurious, dog friendly, holiday cottages with hot tubs in the stunning Shropshire Hills (AONB), ten minutes from the medieval market town of Ludlow. We enjoy stunning views across farmland to the Corvedale and Long Mynd beyond.
The cottages and ‘Pippin’ provide flexible accommodation, perfect for couples, families and friends. We can sleep from 2 to 6 guests.
THE FORGE (Sleeps up to 4)
The Forge has a king double and a daybed that can be made up as a single. This cottage has an ensuite shower.
‘Pippin’ is our adorable retro camper caravan parked in the orchard behind the cottages. Pippin is only available with The Forge from April to September. Pippin has a double bed, electric and a loo. A favourite with children (hot chocolate is provided!)
THE HAYLOFT (Sleeps 2)
The Hayloft has a super king bed with a gorgeous slipper bath and ensuite toilet.
BOTH
Our homely, comfortable cottages boast well equipped kitchens and a BBQ with indoor and outdoor dining areas. A quick trip to the local Ludlow Farm Shop makes self-catering a pleasurable option. Alternatively, we provide a comprehensive list of delightful, local restaurants, cafes and pubs.
We are dog friendly, with plenty of walks from your door. The Shropshire Hills are a hiker’s paradise. We provide maps and are always happy to advise. For the cyclists amongst you, mountain, gravel or road, our resident ex pro cyclist is always delighted to assist with any aspect of your holiday. Bike hire will be available this summer, alternatively we have secure bike storage.

Ludlow, Church Stretton and other local towns are packed with independent shops and are heaven for antique shop lovers.
There is no shortage of options for days out with many National Trust properties and castles nearby. Several wild swimming spots and canoeing from Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Ironbridge. The Midlands Safari Park and The Severn Valley Railway are a 45-minute drive.

Outside Space
Pillar Box Farm Cottages are well signposted and have plenty of off-road parking.
The area behind the two cottages enjoys all day sunshine and has been thoughtfully designed. The Forge and The Hayloft have their own seating and dining areas. There is a coal barbecue for each cottage with the necessary fuel provided.
Each cottage has its own hot tub which you are welcome to use all year round, at any time of the day or night.
Guests also have access to the delightful orchard behind the cottages with a pond and small wood.
In addition, if you fancy an early evening tipple with one of the most stunning views in Shropshire, take a stroll through our little wood to Simon’s Shed. There you will find camping chairs, blankets and everything you need to light the fire pit. Enjoy the sunset with my Shropshire sheep and Henry the horse for company.
Pillar Box Farm is home to my partner Simon and I plus an entertaining assortment of animals. We have a small flock of Shropshire Sheep (April is lambing time for us), chickens, ducks, geese, Henry the appaloosa horse, several dogs, Moses the cat and Nikos the tortoise.

Direct prices start from £370 for a two-night stay in The Hayloft, discounts are always available for stays of 3 nights or more.
A long weekend (Thursday- Sunday) get-together for 3 friends in The Forge is £565.
A weeklong stay for a family of 4 in the Forge and Pippin is £1390 (6 nights).
